Gujarat Body Builders Federation
Building champions, empowering athletes, and advancing bodybuilding excellence across India through dedication and opportunity.
The State Body Builders Federation (SBBAG) is a true federation of bodybuilders—by the bodybuilders and for the bodybuilders. Established to promote and popularize the sport of bodybuilding across India, the IBBF has played a key role in developing athletes and organizing competitions nationwide. From 2012 to 2021, the federation was officially recognized as the National Sports Federation for bodybuilding by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Gujarat, as well as the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAI).
The State Body Builders Federation (SBBF) is one of the leading bodybuilding organizations in India, dedicated to the growth and development of bodybuilding and physique sports across the nation. Today, the IBBF is proudly affiliated with 40 State Associations, Union Territories, and Government Sports Control Boards, making it one of the few sports federations in India with extensive government recognition and support.
With more than 5,000 registered male and female athletes, the SBBAG continues to promote fitness, competitive bodybuilding, and equal opportunities for athletes across all categories. Female participation in bodybuilding has grown significantly over the years, reflecting the federation’s strong commitment to gender inclusivity and women empowerment in sports.
Many athletes associated with the SBBAG are recruited under the Sports Quota through affiliated Government Sports Control Boards. These athletes also receive access to government facilities, promotional incentives, and eligibility for prestigious National Sports Awards through participation in SBBAG-recognized championships and events.
The SBBAG is also recognized for offering world-class support to its athletes, including quality lodging and boarding facilities, cash prizes, trophies, medals, and professional event management during Senior, Junior, and Classic Bodybuilding Championships conducted across India.
The Executive Committee of the SBBAG includes some of the most respected personalities in Indian bodybuilding, including Swamy Ramesh Kumar, Premchand Degra, T. V. Pauly, S. Bhaskaran, and Chetan Pathare, who also serves as the Secretary General of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation.
In recent years, the federation has also increased the representation of female officials within its Executive Committee, further strengthening leadership diversity and inclusiveness within the organization.
